Danube Front and Windows 7
I have played it in windows seven, and well, it works almost perfectly, i say "almost" because there's a frustrating lag when you're moving your units, they move ultra slooooow....

Anyone has played it and have the same issue?

RE: Danube Front and Windows 7
I just fired it up in Win 7 x64 and I didn't notice any lag, or anything else out of the ordinary.

I have the x32, but i've been thinking.. and could the reason be the size of the screen? i bought a new screen of 22" when the previous one was only 18"

Doubtful that it is the screen size/resolution, although you could try lowering the screen resolution to see if it makes a difference. If your PC can run Win7 okay, then these games with their old, simple graphics should run just fine graphically. Are you moving units with reachable hexes on? If so, try it with it off for a simple move and see if that makes a difference. Not sure what else might drag the display down, but try that and see what if any difference it makes.

RE: Danube Front and Windows 7
hey! solved! it was the resolution, seems that the game doesn't run well in 1920x1080, however if i lower it until 1280x720 it runs fine...

Could the guys at HPS take note of this for their next patch?

Interesting, that must be something about your system - mine runs great at 1920x1080, the native resolution of my monitor, but it doesn't look good. I run at a slightly lower res which looks better for everything, but in either case the PzC and MC games runs very fast, with or without reachable hexes on.

I run at 1920 x 1200, I don't think the resolution is the problem.

RE: Danube Front and Windows 7
I found the same thing when playing Stalingrad '42. However, my fix was to right click on my shortcut that I use to open the game, and click on Properties/Compatability tab.

Then I select Disable desktop composition. To avoid the annoying graphic glitches I get....

And I select Run in Windows 98 / Windows Me mode. This rids the slowdown I suffer when playing in 3D. 2D is not effected, so if you play in this mode exclusively, you don't have to change this.

RE: Danube Front and Windows 7
Hi

I also have Win7 64-bit and no lag issues, but i do seems to pick up an issue when scrolling. When I do scroll, all the whole screen goes white and I cant see anything. I resolve it bu clicking on the map and all is back....untill I scroll again.

Any1 seen this issue before?

Keep well

RE: Danube Front and Windows 7
Witblitz, from the HPS Sim site:

Default scrolling issue: DirectX 10 disables the default scrolling features in most games. In these cases, use the "Alternative Scrolling" setting instead.

I believe that is what I had to do to fix the problem, and it worked fine.
