HPS newbie looking for opponent
Was wondering if anyone wanted to do a SMALL TO MEDIUM HPS Panzer Campaign game against me via PBEM to get used to everything.

I have a few AI games under my belt where I score minor victories, lose terribly or flat out get a draw.

Never a major win though.

I currently own France 40
El Alamein
Kursk
Smolensk
Kharkov 43 (NEW NEW NEW)

Market Garden and Normandy are on their way so if you want to do that it will have to be end of week or next Monday

I joined the ladders but the last time I did this I got sent a game for Kursk 43 where I was outnumbered and overrun in like 3 turns. If we could avoid that it would be great :) Beginner here so please be gentle

You can email me a turn at [email protected] if you wish, please keep the optional rules default and the game under 20 turns or so.

Thanks!

Welcome Jason,
Sorry that your first experience was somewhat fraught and i hope your second try has more success, it is unfortunately true that sometimes in the rough and tumble of H2H play the newbies can end up with a few bruises. :eek1:

You are doing the correct thing by starting small until you find your feet, a good fun small S41 scenario is Monastyr "The Road Works" only 10 turns and if you play the attacking Germans you may not win but you will not get overrun. ;)

Thanks for the heads up! I will try that one a little later today. I just also got the new Kharkov 43. Good times to be a wargamer

I added myself to the ladders for the games I own, but I think there is some bootcamp thing I have to do?

No, the only thing you have to do to get out of bootcamp is finish one PBEM game and record it.

Feel free to pick out something small that I own and send it my way. I'm playing with a full plate however, I'll help you get out of bootcamp. I'm also a newbie in the series. :)

Wasnt able to decide on a scenario. I want a medium sized one but I dont think I am experienced enough to find the balanced ones. I have all the Volcano ALT scenarios installed also although I am not sure which changes in each one
