Which to buy
I want to pick up my second Squad Battles game, but also want to make sure there is a Graphics Mod Available (can't wait for Ironx's Red Victory Release!)..
I see the Vietnam ones have mods by lowlander..
Which is the better of the two games? Vietnam or Tour of Duty.. or are they both kind of the same?

If you are interested in seeing a list of the different scenarios check out this link.

I inquired about the two games a while back and fastphil had attached two files that listed the scenario descriptions for the two games.

RE: Which to buy
Thanks, I'm leaning towards Vietnam, because it says that it has more scenarios, but I thought somewhere else I read that Tour of Duty had River Boat action..

If you are interested in Vietnam, don't forget to take a look at Dien Bien Phu as well.

According to the HPS website, http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/products/SB...etnam.html, VN covers some of the major conflicts of the US Army and US Marine Corps from 1965-1971.
Tour of Duty (TOD) http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/products/SB/TOD/TOD.html has your river boats! They also have American Army, American Marine, South Vietnamese, South Korean, Australian, North Vietnamese, and Viet Cong forces.
And as Outlaw Josey Wales had stated, don't forget about Dien Bien Phu (DBP) http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/products/SB...DBPhu.html

RE: Which to buy
Both of them have a fair amount of post-release scenarios as well, all over on TFE4.
There are also a variety of graphics mods as well, and if you like IronX's terrain updates, you can simply that those files and place them into VN (or any game) for a re-fresh.

RE: Which to buy
Tour of Duty has the House to House expansion pack with a bonus official map and the scenarios are pretty well balanced as well. They took advantage of the current engine (Red Victory) changes, so I would go there.

RE: Which to buy
ToD has some riverine scenarios, but not a whole lot, and they aren't very well balanced. I've played a lot of ToD PBEM, and IMO the scenarios aren't very good for that, with Mikes House to House scenarios as an exception, I had a lot of fun with those. Thank you Mike. ;) DBP is much, much better for PBEM if you want Vietnam action.
