PzC Unit Box and Leader Mod – Version 2
These versions replace any of the previous versions found here:
https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=72565
Many thanks to everyone that provided the feedback I needed to do these. Suggested improvements are always appreciated.
At this stage the Eastern, Western and Pacific titles have been completed.
The main differences with the earlier version are:
- Improved leader photos for the Soviet leaders in particular
- Improved background images
- Improved background colours that are more subdued
- The leader art is now in a separate download.
- The OOB files for Budapest ’45 and Moscow ’41 are now automatically included in the leader art downloads for those titles, as there was no good reason to make them optional.
- Three variations of each unit box background are provided as separate downloads. They are labelled A, B and C, representing increasing levels of background image visibility (example below).
Downloads

David,
If time was not an issue I would have replaced all the photos. Once you start it is hard to know where to stop. As it was, I just fixed the worst of the Soviet images (around 30%, at a guess) and decided enough was enough.
I discovered that the key was to search for images using Russian Cyrillic. Amazing what suddenly pops up.
Cheers,
Джон

Hi Chad,
Thanks again.
The Blitz editor has a mind of its own regarding formatting so what I got was not actually what I was wanting but it is close enough.
In the process of formatting the links, many got merged together and did not work. This should now be fixed. It is fair to say that I only have a vague idea of what I am doing. Trail and error is my method.

Green,
These are great!
In addition to looking spectacular, I think they make the info in the unit boxes easier to read, over the stock boxes.
Thank you for taking the time to create them, and sharing.

Thanks Kilo,
I am using the B versions currently and the unit data is easy for me to read. Probably less so in the C version.
One thing worth noting is that the different background images have different effects in terms of visibility. The amount of black versus white in the original photo also changes the colour when I overlay it. So, the version that is best for one title may not be the best for another title. I started to try to adjust for this but decided life is too short.

Thanks Green,
This mod is a must have. If I could, I would vote for this one to be official. Three options are a plus!
Looking forward to the west front releases.

Thank you, Bigus.
These will never be official but from my perspective the important thing is that they are here for anyone that wants them. But I appreciate the vote of confidence!
Western titles are probably two or three weeks away.
Cheers,
John

RE: PzC Unit Box and Leader Mod – Version 2
I have been asked how I get the different font for the unit designation and the unit data. The procedure is as follows:
- Right click on the game EXE or the shortcut you use
- Select 'Properties'
- Click on the 'Compatibility' tab
- Click on the 'Change High DPI Settings' button
- Select the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' and then from the drop down list below it select 'System (Enhanced)'
- Press the 'OK' button and then the 'Apply' button.
Note that if your Windows display settings for scaling are set to 100%, it probably has no effect. Also, it will not work for everyone or for every title but it works for me with all PzC titles.
If it does not work you can remove it by following the above procedure and deselecting 'Override high DPI scaling behavior'.
