Herding Cats
I'm a newbie to WDS Naval Campaigns, with Wolfpack being the only title I have so far. Wanting to learn carrier and flight operations, I was drawn to the Bogue scenario.
I got heavily involved in learning to assign missions and form packages. My TBFs managed to sink two U-boats within one to two hours of the start of the scenario.
Meanwhile, I would frequently hear the sounds of my ships in convoy colliding with each other, and with the close escort vessels. The patrol boat Aggasiz (sp?) had its speed reduced to 2 kts by collision damage. I did get the close escort out of the midst of the convoy, and off to the east of the convoy, eliminating any more chances for collision (I hoped).
But the collisions continued, now just involving convoy ships that are completely beyond my control.
Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid such "friendly fire" incidents? Would it have helped if I got the close escort vessels out from among the convoy vessels earlier in the scenario?
I'm still having great fun with Naval Campaigns, and look forward to picking up the Guadalcanal and Midway titles very soon.
Regards,
Mike
