The French spent a great deal of time chasing shadows at Auerstadt. The Prussians concentrated at Jena and chewed up French commanders to gain enough points for a minor win.

The Prussians were able to withdraw nearly completely from Auerstadt in the early stages of the battle. While Davout and Bernadotte followed on their heels, the Prussians were able to concentrate most of their cav and infantry in the south against Napoleon. While he lost most of the major victory locations on the map, my opponent was able to maul Napoleon's forces and push the French behind their starting positions. Only the intervention of the Guard and most of the French reinforcements prevented the fall of Jena proper.
