The French rapidly destroyed most of the Russian artillery. Much of the Russian infantry are militia units. A lot of wide open objective hexes. However the French lost heavily and didn't want to push on. Had they done so a Draw would probably have been the likely outcome. Points for Leaders had a huge effect, but this may well have changed in the later version.
