The Russian 2nd Army very nearly managed a breakthrough on the German left, and in a swing of a few turns, very nearly lost an entire Corps to a counter attack against that penetration. In the end, neither player was able to complete their aims but the fact that both sides came tantalizingly close to doing so speaks volumes on how well the system works at portraying the era.
