A disaster on the Dneper River, no chance to get anywhere within a hold of Kanev even though numerous rifle divisions and tank brigades crossed the river and were converging on the town from north all along the river bed.We did not even to destroy the krauts completely on the eastern bank. Great mobile defence on Gerald's part.
