The Polish paras didn't make to catch all the bridges apart from the one in the northernmost part of the AoR. The armoured vanguard of the 3rd Shock Army clashed with the Jerries, Brits and the Dutch in their forward defenisve positions, but after they have been evacuated to the the other river bank it was hard to make them budge.
