Original Design by Xavier Vitry, published in ASL Journal 7 YUDINKI, RUSSIA, 14 OCTOBER 1941: To the south of Borodino, the SS Das Reich was commited to several actions aimed at breaking the Soviet lines in order to rush towards the east. The Der Fuehrer Regiment, fighting on the southern flank of the division, has regrouped and was to seize the village of Yudinki, whose forward defense consisted of some of the finest Russian youth - the Lenin Cadets. Aftermath: The Lenin Cadets were unable to hold their ground. Despite the good leadership from the Military Acadamy and extreme bravery in combat, they were forced to withdraw to the village of Artemki, a few miles to the east. Nevertheless, they had inflicted heavy casualties upon the SS who, stopped at Artemki by these same Cadets a few hours later, could not break the Soviet lines this day.

Tough fight for both sides. The VP levels might favor the Russians a bit.

A challenging scenario from either side. The German player has a lot of ground to cover quickly and a lot of VP's to capture in the allotted time, but has more than enough troops to accomplish the mission. The Russian player has a limited number of troops, a large number of VP's to defend and a lot of ground that must be defended with the limited number of troops, placing him at a disadvantage. The German player must be swift and decisive in battle. The Russian player has to carefully trade ground, time and troops in a balanced manner in order to have a chance at victory. Relatively easy for the German player, very challenging for the Russian player.

Needs about 2 less turns or a few more Soviets to really balance this one.
