June 18, 1815 44 Turns ----------------------[ What If ]---------------------- At the battle of Ligny, Blücher's horse had been killed, pinning him beneath it. As the Prussians retreated, he was nowhere to be found, and von Gneisenau took over command. He considered abandoning the plan to link up with the Anglo-Allied Army, preferring instead to retreat eastward along the Prussian line of supply. But Blücher reappeared in time to keep his word to support Wellington. What if Blücher had never returned, or had reappeared too late to prevent a Prussian retreat? Could the Anglo-Allied Army have stood alone against Napoléon?
