August 29, 1862 26 Turns ------------------[ Historical ]----------------- 12:20pm: This one-day Second Bull Run scenario with variable "releases" begins just after midday on the first day of the battle and runs until after nightfall. Sigel's corps has already been repulsed in several attacks against Jackson's stubborn Confederates behind the protective banks of the unfinished railroad. Hatch's division (McDowell's III Corps), after withdrawing to lick their wounds from the bloody battle at Brawner's Farm on the previous night, has now been summoned back north toward the fighting. John Pope, the Union commander, is just about to arrive on the battlefield, still hoping to "bag the whole crowd" of unruly rebels. Meanwhile, Porter's corps (Morell's & Sykes' divisions) - tramping toward Gainesville along the Manassas-Gainesville Road - has "bumped" into newly arrived Rebels of Longstreet's Corps. Historically, Porter opted not to attack, and is thus "fixed" in this scenario. However, to keep the Rebs "honest", there is a chance that Porter's corps *will* become available!
