January 2, 1863 7 Turns --------------------[ Historical ]--------------------- 4:00pm: This scenario covers Breckinridge's attack on January 2nd. Both armies are mostly "fixed", except for the two Confederate divisions involved in the initial fight. There are variable releases of units which participated, or might have, as reinforcements on both sides. Historically, Breckinridge's men met with initial success, only to be bloodily repulsed by a grand battery of some forty Federal cannon that were hastily assembled on the west bank above McFadden's Ford. In the end the assault was a debacle that brought the former Vice President to tears, and sealed Bragg's defeat. As Yankee or Rebel, may you have better luck!
