September 18, 1863 12 Turns --------------------[ Historical ]--------------------- 1:00pm: The first phase in Bragg's plan to defeat the Federal forces began on the 18th with Bushrod Johnson's brigade chasing Robert Minty's cavalry force across the Chickamauga at Reed's bridge. Farther south St. John Liddell's division is assigned the chore of crossing at Alexander's bridge which is being guarded by half of John Wilder's "Lightning Brigade" (mounted infantry armed with Spencer repeating rifles).
