direction meet Rebel pickets occupying Tunnel Hill, some miles
NW from Dalton City, Ga. Sharp skirmishing begun, but without
major assault on rebel entrenchments. Despite outnumbered, rebel
stand firm and withdraw till scouts reported Union IV Corps flanking
movement from N.
