Villiers-le-Sec, East of Bayeux: June 7th, 1944. (Scenario Size: Regiment. Head to Head or Human vs German AI) The German 352. Infanterie Division was deployed to the west and south of the Gold landings. General Kraiss 352nd's commander was afraid that if British tanks got loose, they could turn west and roll up his divisional sector from the rear. The division's reserve kampfgruppe consisted of the 915. Infanterie Regiment as well as the divisional Fusilier Battalion. Oberst Leutenant Meyer commanding the kampfgruppe was ordered to move to Villiers le Sec in company with some StuG's and attack towards Crepon. Things did not go as planned, the 1st Battalion was diverted to support the Omaha beach defences while the remainder of the KG was harassed and delayed by Allied fighter bombers. Before Meyer's men could deploy, units of 69th Infantry Brigade with the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards had closed and a stiff battle began.

Unbalanced victory requirements, reinforcements that might never arrive, and any result other than a major loss depending on getting good Disruption rolls.

This scenario really needs more turns.

Not much for the Axis to do. Can only man the 3 objectives, really, dig in a bit, let the outposts slow things down. The Allies cannot win as it is is presently set up, but ading a few turns, for example, wouldn't make it any more interesting for the Axis, as there still wouldn't be much you could do.

It is a fun scenario however,Allied player has to have alot go right to do any good. If enemy troops don't disrupt easily, Allied player is pretty much "up the creek" as the attack bogs down. It also doesn't help if your 6 reinforcement tanks arrive on the last turn as it is too late to do anything with them.

This is a deceiving battle. I thought the Axis had no chance given the onslaught of units the Allies had. But, time is definitely on the Allies side, and it came down to them needing one or two more turns.

Hard to say how balanced it is until I play it some more, but it was an enjoyable battle.

There probably needs to be a separate pbem version of this scenario as the Allies really don't have enough time to capture enough vl's to make it a fair battle.

Time is short for the allies to take all the objectives. The objectives alone only provide a draw in points. Recommend adding a turn or two to this one. Enjoyable though, a short and brisk fight.

As the Allies I rushed my armor forward and put everything I could on the hill. My units were able to cover each other well on the defensive fire. It also cut the battlefield in half. I took one 25 point objective and just miss the other (east side of map). In the end it is hard for the Allied infantry to reach the objectives and still assault. Very enjoyable, but takes some practice with the Allies.
