Barenton, South East of Mortain: August 11th, 1944. (Scenario Size: Division+. Head to Head or United States Human vs AI) The US 2nd Armored Division (-) was ordered to strike toward the town of Ger from the Barenton area. The aim of the attack was to strike quickly and isolate the German spearheads attacking Mortain, or failing that to force an end to the German counterattack by drawing forces away from Mortain. Historically, the attack pulled in significant parts of 2.SS-Panzer-Division that were supposed to join the German attack on Mortain, while grinding forward 3 miles in 3 days. This version has the main point of attack shifted east along secondary roads to try and bypass the strongest German defenses.
