[Mitla Pass, Sinai Peninsula]: [H2H][HIS][CSL]: As the Egyptians withdrew back to the Suez Canal, Israeli units were able to advance unimpeded into the heart of the Sinai. Advance detachments made their way to the key passes in the Sinai. One pass, Mitla, was found undefended by the Egyptians.
