The initial Allied superiority at sea, in the air and finally on the ground when the seaborne landings are completed is mostly and completely unchallenged and probably remains so throughout the scenario even with the withdrawal of strategic bombers later on. I'd say it's a race against time and German delaying actions mostly to reach Grenoble and block the Axis forces in the west.
