In September 2011, Argentina and Venezuela initiated jointly military operations against Brazil and Uruguay. It is the Pampa War or "Guerra no Pampa", the southern South America plains.

After the Cold War, the South American Nations, were, most of them, weak politician governments, based upon populism, demagogy and corruption. The World Economic crisis of 2008 reinforced the chronic unemployment and the governments were facing people unhappiness.

Argentina: the lack of press freedom, electrical energy and consumer goods and increasing inflation put the population unsatisfied with the government. It was necessary to create an external excuse to get the population attention away from the domestic problems. The relationship with Brazil and Uruguay are at the worst level in history. The competition with Brazil is to have the South American countries leadership and supremacy. A secret military alliance was firmed between Argentina and Venezuela, having Bolivia and Paraguay as associated partners.

Venezuela: The "XXI Century Socialism" politics established a perpetual presidency. Externally, Venezuela assumed Cuba's political orientation. Militarily, the Armed Forces began a reinforcement program re-equipping with T-72 tanks, AK assault rifles, Sukhoi fighters, Mi helicopters and Namur submarines. In 2010, Venezuelan forces occupied the litigated Guiana Republic western area (Essequibo). The UN Security Council complained, but no action was taken, giving the "Bolivarian Army" a successful baptism of fire and the confidence in his ability to bend the rest of South America.

Brazil: In 2010, the government has lost the rest of its people credits due to the Presidential involvement with corruption. The government attempt of changing the Constitution to establish a dictatorship like Venezuela didn't succeed due to the Congress and the Supreme Court refusing it, hearing the population claims and supported by the armed forces.

Uruguay: the new pulp and paper plants erected near the Uruguay River in the border with Argentina brought back a development fresh air to the country with thousands employments and reactivating the stagnated economy. Brazil is the natural partner to approach.

After the result of the October 2010 Brazilian Presidential Election was announced, the former government negotiated secretly with Venezuelan, Argentinean and Paraguayan representatives an agreement where in change to go back and establish in Brazil a pastiche government, those countries would get:

• Venezuela: Northern Amazonian area (Roraima);
• Argentina: Uruguay and Southern Brazilian area (Rio Grande do Sul);
• Paraguay: Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant and vicinity.

Brazil and Uruguay should be militarily defeated. The preparative initiated in January 2011: jointly maneuvers, troops deployment, weapons supplying from the Venezuela's depots. Brazil and Uruguay soon realized what was going on and slowly also began their mobilization.

The main objectives for the Argentinean forces are to quickly conquest Montevideo (Uruguay) and Porto Alegre (Brazil), as due to the small amount of available reserves there will be a few reinforcements during the period, mostly Venezuelan forces.

For the Brazilian forces the main objective is to slow down the initial attacks till the reinforcements will begin to arrive from internal mobilization. The secondary objectives are to conquest Corrientes and Buenos Aires.

UN will intervene and there is a possibility of being established a Cease Fire.

As starting in the end of the winter period in the Southern hemisphere, the weather can bring some cold fronts and even a warm front time by time, maybe storms.

Paraguay can only attack if the Argentinean forces conquest Alegrete, and Brazil can only attack Paraguay if it's attacked first.
