Victory conditions, auto-end, and Chinese intervention are potentially confusing; read the scenario briefing carefully. For complete understanding, study events 26, 49, 21 & 22 in the event engine. Basically, the UN player risks Chinese intervention if he goes for too great a victory.
Unfair events for PBME games if Chinese comes or not.
The scenario doesn't limit UN amphibious landings to port hexes, making it difficult to impossible to defend against them.
I was wargaming that because I started reading Halberstam's "The Coldest Winter" - a great match.
Too bad that the scenario went for only about a few dozen turns before my opponent first had apparently lost his interest and then vanished as I have not heard from him for a while already.
That is a bit strange: the UNC was approaching Pyongyang from three directions and was about to liberate that, driving deep into North Korean territory, piercing the front line in several places and having the In Min Gun in disarray suffering higher casualties yet it ends in a defeat? This should be put among theater options to use it or tease the Chinese some more to see what transpires.A bit disappointing end of a great effort.
Not much room to maneuver. First there is no stopping the NKs and then it's the UNs turn to advance, so it's pretty much a set piece battle. Stopped at turn 67 due to patch upgrade, so dont know how the NKs would have fared during the winter.
