On the night from 25th to 26th October 1961 the tensions between the two superpowers arrives their peak. Previously East German border guards refused members of the U.S. Military Commission repeated the access to East Berlin. This situation led to an escalation between the Soviets and the United States. In the following days Soviet units and the National People's Army advanced into West Berlin and conquered one district after the next. This conflict developed now to a conflagration between the NATO and the Warsaw Pact. West Berlin was completely isolated and the NATO decided to start a diversionary attack, called Operation Red Fox. Late in the evening of the 12th November 1961, British paratroopers of the 65. Battalion, supported by a company of SAS and anti-tank units, jumped into the sector northeast of Magdeburg with the aim to secure the bridges across the Elbe so that the following 1st Armored Division can safely cross the bridges. (Best played as NATO or against human opponents).
