A nightmare seemed come to be true. At 19 June the two days continuous uprisings in East Berlin arrived the Western sectors. As a result, Berlin has been completely sealed off by the Soviet army. After the commander of the British troops from Berlin energetic had demanded the immediate withdrawal of Soviet soldiers opened fire without warning on British patrols. 16 British soldiers were killed. While the Americans shocked responded to these events and more on their were hesitant to approach, strong British associations immediately in the direction of Berlin in motion. On 21 June the german - german border were crossed in several places. Short before Magdeburg it came to the first major trial of strength between British and Soviets.
