BROLO, SICILY 11 AUGUST 1943
Patton was unaware, that at the moment his amphibious landing (units of 3.Infantry Division) commanded by Colonel Bernard was happening, the orders for a German disengagement by General Hube was already in motion with an organized retreat of the tough 71.Panzer Grenadier Regiment, 29.PzG.Div. eastward through Brolo, Sicily.
