52. Panzer Grenadier Regiment, 18. Panzer Division has secured Borisov after a tough fight, is expanding it's bridgehead across the Berezina River. Russian General Yeremenko, on 30 June was assigned to command army group WEST, immediately reacted to the most obvious threat at the Borisov Bridgehead. He orders all available forces to converge and destroy the Germans there. The core of this counter attack is the Armored Forces Training College, supported by a cavalry group, partisans and reformed remnants of the earlier Borisov battle. Simultaneously, the 18. Panzer Division, under the command of Heinz Guderian, gives the order to breakout of the Borisov bridgehead.
