HSG EW A Tiger By The Tail_2 - Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin

1 May 1945 Near the Elbe River, Germany The Soviets have advanced past Berlin on all sides. They are racing to join up with the Americans at the Elbe River. German forces are caught in an ever shrinking area to defend. At times there are but a few miles separating whether you are fighting Americans or Russians. The Russians are flushed with victory. They have advanced across Germany and the war will be over in days. Now is not the time to die for the cause. Now is the time to mop up the last few pockets of resistance and go home. Here, at the end of the war, in an unrecorded village, a German Kampfgruppe defends against a Russian attack for yet another time. The Germans are tired and short of everything but courage. In these small pockets the Germans often had powerful weapons and the Soviet spearheads had to be very careful advancing across the country.

This is the updated version of HSG EW A Tiger by the Tail. The original scenario was played in the WeBoB Monthly Scenario Challenge and the comments and recommendations from that tournament have created this version 2. This scenario should give the Germans a bit more of a chance to do damage to the Russian tank force if their main equipment gets destroyed.

This scenario is best played as German vs AI but has been played H2H with good results. Better player should take Germans in H2H battle. Changes to Version 2: Fixed the winding road. Added German infantry AT capability. Reduced the map size to allow the AI to focus the Soviet units to attack more realistically. Added more information to the briefings.
