15 September 1942, Near Rzhev, Russia
The Germans aren't pulling back from Rzhev in September 1942. The Soviets launched one attack after another to drive the Germans from their position around Rzhev that are threatening Moscow. The fighting is some of the most intense during the entire war.
The German infantry is holding on by the slimmest of threads. The Soviet High Command is about to unleash what it hopes will tip the balance in their favor. The Stalin Tank Brigade is about to go into action.
Sturmguschtze Battalion 667 was called to support the defenders. It would be just to the south of Rzhev that Sergeant Hugo Primozic would earn the Knight's Cross.
