HSG S Surprise - Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin

A very evenly-balanced little game, on a winter map in Russia. Tigers for the Germans, but very difficult for either side to come out with a win. **** 11 January, 1943, Romanovskiy, Russia The Soviet offensive had run out of steam and ground to a halt. Within 3 weeks though 6th Army would surrender. The Soviets had rebuilt and were gaining strength daily. The Soviet use of armor and their strategic skills had caught the Germans by surprise. An entire German Army had disappeared from the roll of German combat units. The Germans weren't finished just yet though. They hadn't been sitting around mourning the loss of 6th Army. They had a few surprises in store for the Soviets as well. For months the Soviet KV tanks had terrorized the German tank forces. The Germans had answered with the Tiger I. The first Tiger Bn had been deployed with Army Group North in August 1942. Now the Soviets were about to get surprised with the third Tiger Bn right in the middle of their deployment area.
