Due to the intel that the Brits receive, both of my 88's were toast in the first 30 seconds from arty strikes. Not a good start. The Germans are very light on the ground, and the fact that they have to defend several crossing sites, even more so. There was little use for the IG's due to low trajectory and limited LOS positions without being peppered by the Brits. If the TDs had arrived even 15 minutes earlier, this one would have been closer. Very challenging!

From my point of view it is very difficult from the british side to win the game. The Germans have a lot of AT Guns + Mortar support.
For the british tanks and infantery are only a few ways for the attack available.
When the german prepare this possible ways with target points and bring the AT in the right positions it is very hard for the british player.
Furhtermore the bocage give the germans a good protection against direct fire and they can hide behind for aimbush.

A great map and challenge for both sides but the balance of forces and terrain give the German defender a significant advantage. The Germans can defend behind hedgerows and in entrenchments or foxholes while using mines and artillery (with TRPs) to bring British attempts to cross the river to an abrupt halt. I think the following changes would help balance the scenario and make a great battle even better:

1) Reduce German mortar and anti-tank guns by ~25% and cut the number of TRPs to 2.

2) Add one or two more fording sites to stretch the German defences and provide more options for the British player.

A long slug fest of a battle...the Germans have to outlast the massive artillery strikes of the British and then reinforce as quickly as they can.

Difficult for the Allies, need to move fast early doors, before reinforcement appears.
