While Raz thinks that this game isn't very well balanced for H2H, I think that a better player than me would have probably been able to get a better result.

How much better? That's hard to say.

The US infantry is pretty resilient - fighting off Raz's screen was hard as eating nails. Overcoming his OPs required sometimes a whole platoon of Russian infantry with vehicle supports. Those clashes ended up attriting my AFVs and my infantry too much.

The Javelins are extremely powerful weapon platforms - they are pretty much like the Death Star force field that needs to be disabled at all costs before armour can even have a chance at survival. Of course, they can be almost impossible to spot with drones, and infantry have trouble identifying them.

On the other hand the Russians have plenty of artillery and drones... if I had been more patient at times and more conscious of the threat that the Javelins pose, probably I would have got a better result.

Yet, after the FOW was lifted, I could see how much infantry Raz had on the main objective, and to be honest, to dislodge those hard ass US riflemen I would probably have needed a 1 kiloton tactical nuclear warhead :)

My esteemed opponent pretty much hit the nail. My infantry ended the game still having enough javelins to trash another 1-2 platoons of russian armor. After it destroyed the 3 T72s the russian got and quite a lot of APCs.

In it;s current form the scenario is not suited for H2H play as it heavily favors the US player.

Javelins are ferocious and there is lots of open ground for the attacker to cover but its still possible to defeat the defender

Still getting my head around the modern setting. I think the terrain and lack of more infantry for the Russians make this favoured to the US. The javelins are just to lethal to the Russian armour and they have few covered approaches.

My opponent seemed fairly adept but couldn't use his artillery well enough to suppress my javelin teams, maybe not using his recce infantry patiently enough.

Russians should also be penalised in points for loosing each heavy armour piece I feel. The points seemed out of whack for the end result

Very difficult for Russia...
