- a lot of artillery available (both sides)
- focus is on urban combat (also for the tanks)
It's a great challenge as the US, but I would imagine it would be as much of a challenge for the German player, too
Whichever side you play, I think it's a battle of two halves and keeps you thinking right up to the very end of the game
2.) Spotting particularly difficult in this weather. The Germans don't even see the American tanks that are in the streets,
because of the shadows and poor visibility. The German tanks, on the other hand, are in an open field and can be seen hundreds of meters away!
STILL, the creator of the scenario continued to increase the number of US tanks as the scenario progressed! That bungler!
3.) The timing for the arrival of reinforcements is also total nonsense. Should you wait 45 minutes for the reinforcements to finally arrive? During this time, my opponent had positioned himself in my setup zone as a precaution to welcome my reinforcements.
4.) The reinforcements are also a complete game changer, making the first 45 minutes of the game pretty pointless. You're better off just sitting there and waiting for the rest of your troops to show up.
5.) The German troops are extremely poor trained and weak. This means they can hardly recognize or see the enemy, especially in this weather, while always being clearly visible themselves. Then they are breaking immediately at the first shot. Are THESE supposed to be the experienced Eastern Front veterans that the Americans had to deal with in the Battle of the Bulge? I rather had the impression that I had to command a kindergarten. The tank crews are no better either. How are you supposed to attack a village with such a pile of junk?
Complete waste of time.
