An excellent infantry battle in mountainous terrain that is a real challenge for both players. Overall, it seemed to slightly favour the allied side since they start closer to the objective and have more troops. In addition, the German supply is only "adequate" and this definitely came into play as the troops were running short on ammo by the mid-point of the battle and were recovering bullets from wounded comrades throughout. About the only change I would recommend would be to increase German supply to full to provide more balance but it is still a really fun scenario as is!
Good interesting map and decent balance of forces. Ammo would have been a challenge later in the battle. Battle could go either way depending on timing or point of assault v defender dispositions.
Allies seems to have the advantage in starting position as well as in forces. My opponent skillfully eradicated a whole platoon in an ambush early on but still could not hold up against my force.
A very nice mix of troops and challenging terrain that provides a good opportunity to practice infantry tactics in the mountains. It slightly favours the allied player as they are closer to the objective to start, the Germans have adequate vice full ammunition and the Allied side starts with all their troops while the Germans get some of their force as reinforcements partway through. About the only change I would suggest to improve play balance would be to increase the German supply to full.
Infantry only battle, well balanced IMO with different potential tactical options.
An interesting game, with a nice map, dominated by a central ridge running the whole length, which separated the two sides. A bit of a slogging match. Not much opportunity for tactical maneuvering. More like a WW1 meat-grinder. patton1945 was a great opponent and the result could have gone either way.
