There are 3 VL’s, one in the Allied zone, one in the middle and one in the Axis zone.
Playing the Allies, I initially pushed up both flanks with the intent of isolating the center VL and perhaps threatening the Axis VL but was met by a well-designed defense using the existing terrain.
Since this was a meeting engagement and we both had about an equal amount of forces the game became bogged down to a tweak here and a nudge there trying to set up a shot before getting shot.
This nudging went on for quite a few minutes leading me to think that perhaps the scenario should be reduced from 60 to 45 minutes.
Most of the maneuvering over what seemed the last 40 minutes or so was just trying to setup for and defend against a last minute rush for the center VL’s mountain top.
I lean this toward the Germans because I believe, and my opponent may disagree, they have a better route to the top of the center VL that is out of the Allied LOS than the Americans and that the German tanks are superior to the Americans.
