Tough as the Axis, although still a respectable challenge for the Soviets!

Agreed I had to work for it for sure. I think I would rate it as pro Allied. Perhaps I was lucky enough to neutralize both Tigers and the Royal Tiger for much of the game in a smoke induced haze of HE and smoke rounds which ended up immobilizing them. Things would have been a lot harder if I had not succeeded at that.

It was loads of fun! I will have to try this out from the other side to see what that feels like.

Interesting and entertaining scenario, but possibly quite difficult for the German side due to numerical superiority of the Russians, especially in capable tanks (T34/85).

Excellent and dynamic scenario

The long range accuracy of the guns on the German Tanks and TD's are the difference here - Russian tanks brewing up everywhere, and the SU 76's are virtually worthless

Fun scenario, but nonetheless though for both sides. Can be won be either side, although i think the soviets have a slight advantage.

Enjoyed this game a lot. Some early luck for the Russians helped sustain them through the game. Without that early luck, I think the German side would win and it was touch and go until near the end. IMHO an excellent scenario and well-designed map.

I think this can go either way as with all tank battles the tides of war can swing rapidly.

A good scenario, map is just right not too big not too small, number of turns also just right. The Russian has a slight disadvantage in armor as his tanks will not survive being hit whereas about half the German tanks can bounce off an 85mm shell at least half the time. And the Russian Su-76 are useless. But Russian numbers can overcome this via maneuver and mass. Overall an enjoyable scenario that either side can win.

Tons of tanks and SMG infantry cramped onto a dusty map...
Any decent player on the Soviet side can easily blind out the tactically decisive hill for the German player.
Additionally that 2wooded" hill is created as LOS open forward slope for the German side for the whole game, while the Soviet side has lots of woods to hide and maneuver behind.

Want to use the Tiger 2 properly?
Sorry, there's no time to either wait for the dust to settle, nor is there time for maneuever!
Rush forward is the name of the game.

You don't like unrealistic map edge gaming, don't like to rush forward and play grab the flag? Sorry, if you have an opponent who knows what dust does on that map, you have no time to counter it:
you either have the choice to sit behind a dust cloud and wait while the time runs, or you maneuever and lose 10 minutes each time to get a decent new spoting contact suitable for an attack.

To bad there are 30 or so Soviet tanks and there is simply not enough time to strip the oponent from his tanks.

But who cares?!
The scanrio designer just wants you to grab a victory location downin the middle of the map, while the heights are not secure?
Applause by the masses?
WTF?

Not even 2 hours time?
Are you kidding me?
This has NOTHING to do with tactics this is just enforced childish flag grabbing.

Stay away if you like realistic tactics!

The scenario gives a massive advantage in material terms to the Russians. The Germans have better quality tanks and troops. The initiative definitely starts in the Russian's court. The Germans must use their range and must maneuver their defense like a game of chess to check the enemy's thrusts. The Germans need to watch over their left flank which controls the heights that look over two other objectives. The initial set up does not favor the German's ability to secure the left flank objective. If the Germans can can withstand the Russian superiority in numbers and if the Russians make forced errors, the Germans may be able to counter attack and retake the left and center river objectives. In the end, I think my opponent made a few judgmental errors which cost him the scenario.
