I found this extremely challenging as the soviets mainly because I tried a human wave approach and didn't concentrate my assault on one point. Bad use of artillery and smoke didn't live up to my name

The Russians have no way of making it into town without suffering crippling losses. Once in town, the Russians do not have the numbers or muscle to make headway.
Not easy from the allies side but it is a challenge to find the right way into the town.
I would suggest that the stugs be replaced by MK IVs, the lack of a turret really hurts the Germans. Considering they are greatly out numbered it is a small help. A bit long for a tourny game though.

Possibly slightly pro axis, but a very entertaining and fun scenario.
IMHO, the key to a Soviet victory here is to not rush things - try to take out the 88's with arty and in the meantime probe a bit to find out where the forward Hitlerites are. Otherwise, I think two things are key here for Ivan - don't commit to a full scale attack until ALL the reinforcements are in, and avoid the kill zone in the center - if the Germans have guys in buildings in both sides of the center ridge (probably will as both sets of buildings are objs.) then the crossfire on the Ivans coming up over the hill will decimate them
