The scenario represents a hypothetical engagement during the amphibious landing of French forces along the coast of South Vietnam to start the sweep along the "Street Without Joy" which ran from Hue to Quang Tri. The amphibious forces of the French Groupement A attacked along the coast and moved rapidly inland.
