Khe Sahn Jan 21 - Divided Ground - Vietnam

The Battle of Khe Sanh began at 05:30, 21 Jan 68. The NVA hammered the firebase with hundreds of 82mm mortar, 122 rockets, and other artillery and small arms fire. Virtually all of the bases ammo and fuel supplies were destroyed. On 22 JAN, resupply helicopters adn Airforce Fighter-bommers were lost to enemy fire. Surrounding outposts were engaged by large numbers of NVA and many positions lost in heavey night fighting. These actions caused public uproar as to whether or not the position should be held or abandoned.........
