[Historical, best played against human opponent] Location : 28 Km south of Beloy. In order to reach the city Beloy, the Red Army had to capture a bridge over the Lutchessa . In the preceding months, the Soviet winter offensive had finally reached the southern bank of this river. The German 110th Infanterie Division had to shorten it's front to compensate for the many losses suffered. So the front to the south of this division was taken over by a kampfgruppe of "Grossdeutschland" (this division had been split up in smaller formations to help bolster he line). The Soviet commander of 36th Rifle Corps had identified this weak spot and ordered a strong attack by 185th Rifle division (supported by armour) to break through and capture a bridge. As soon as the attack developed, Oberst Warschenauer, commanding the reinforced II./ "GD" Grenadier Regiment called for reinforcements.

Very tough scenario for the Axis, though a skilled German can make the Soviet advance slow and expensive. This scenario is a true chess game, you'll need to be thinking several turns in advance.
Axis must try maintain integrity and minimal losses falling back until reinforcements arrive. Soviets must be aggressive, especially using their ski troops. Push fast and deep.
Axis must fall back and wait for reinforcements but also try and delay Soviet advance as much as possible. Soviet ski troops can infiltrate Axis rear so be careful. Soviets must press hard for the river especially in the North.
