This is a hypothetical scenario that covers the situation where the Russian 1st Army advances to besiege Königsberg, while the Russian 2nd Army fights off German counter attacks against it, or at the very least, is still embroiled in battle. The intent of this scenario is to allow the commanders to explore what might have happened if the Russians had assaulted Königsberg, and to allow the Russian commander to practice attacking Königsberg in order to plan how best to do it in a campaign. The scenario is also intended to help build confidence, demonstrating that the capture of Königsberg is possible. Note that this scenario assumes that the German Hauptreserve Königsberg division has fallen back into the fortress, but the situation would be exponentially easier if it had not, or more difficult if additional German formations withdraw into the fortress (at the expense of bottling them up and making them a non-factor elsewhere). [Size: medium] *This scenario is a post-release add-on scenario and, as such, there are no designer notes in the notes document. Only part of the Russian 1st Army is present, specifically the units that were either known to be the reserve to the army or corps that were advancing towards Königsberg near the end of August; all other units are understood to be south off the map, either assisting the 2nd Army or screening 1st Army's left flank.

Russians have a really tough row to hoe. They have no room for error, and will need a spot of luck, too.
