Poland, 12th November 1914: With the Lodz campaign underway, the campaign's first fighting was destined to occur along the Vistula River, given that this major obstacle cut an east to west path along the German axis of advance. The Germans intended to use the Vistula as a boundary to which they would anchor their left flank. On the 12th of November, the forward deployed Russian V Siberian Corps, of Rennenkampf's 1st Army made first contact with the Germans advancing from Thorn. The reserve formations of the Russian Army were no match for the Germans, but all they could hope to do is fall back and delay the German advance long enough for the rest of the Russian Army to respond. With equal opponents and no big mistakes it will most probably come down to a Draw. With some lucky Disruptions a Minor Victory can be achieved.
