Northeast Macva Peninsula, Serbia, 17th September 1914:
Just prior to the climactic and bloody battle on Mount Jagodnja, Potiorek desired to flank the Serbians in the Macva Peninsula by attacking them from behind. This was made possible now that FML Alfred Krauss' reliable 29.InfanterieDiv. had no further threats in Syrmia, due to the complete withdrawal of Serbian forces located there.
Potiorek instructed that Krauss should attack across the Sava River at Jarak, and advance south towards the interior of the Serbian position towards Valjevo. This optimistic plan did not take the deteriorating weather and ground conditions into account, nor the predictable Serbian reaction that they would quickly rush reinforcements into the area. Nevertheless, through Krauss' own initiative he ignored the plan and began to accomplish something more realistic and, in the long run would prove to be more beneficial: a southwestwards attack to relieve the Austro-Hungarian 5.Armee that was bogged down on the Drina, and a significant bridgehead that would be used in the inevitable third invasion.

Lots of mud. :)
An enjoyable, quick to play, scenario, but a tricky one for the Serbian side.
As usual, the k.u.k. army is difficult (as in "less intuitive") to play. Due to the bad base morale, k.u.k. units have immense Troubles to recover from disruption once they have reached Level 1 or 2 fatigue. Keeping reserves, rotating units and working as much as possible with MGs and artillery seems to be the key. My opponent pushed forward along the whole front, tiring out his infantry too much. I absorbed most of it with small Units (cavalry) that suffer very Little casualties in fire Combat. The tire k.u.k. soldier could not withstand the Serbian counterattack once it came.
The scenario victory changed sides in the last couple of turns when the Serbs finally managed to get in command a few turns and retake an objective, but there were many frustrating moments prior to that as the Germans pushed back my disrupted low ammo Serbs.
As the AH commander, I pushed my units too much in the final day, and lost the Minor Victory after Serbian counterattack in the middle. Very entertaining quick to play scenario.
Serbians always low on ammo which negates their high morale.
