13 February, 1951
[Chip'yong-Ni, South Korea]:[NIGHT][H2H/CCF][HIS][BB]: This is
a scenario depicting the actions of the 23rd RCT, with the French
Battalion attached, on the night of the 13-14th of February.
This force was situated in and around the immediate perimeter
of the strategic village of Chip'yong-Ni, as part of a baited
trap to lure in forces away from the main Chinese advance, so
that the Reds could be destroyed in the open by the combined
forces of the 23rd. The Chinese were out for blood, as the 23rd
had already bloodied their noses at Kunu-ri during the winter
retreat in North Korea and at Twin Tunnels to the South a few
days before. The 23rd was completely surrounded by 4 regiments
of Chinese, and as darkness progressed around 11:00 all hell
broke loose.[ALL OPTIONS EXC Human Wave] [VERSION 1.6]
