Hill 233.3, South of Tolstoye Woods,12 July, 1943 (Scenario Size: Division, German Human vs Russian AI or Head to Head) Major Peschke, commander of the 394th Panzergrenadier Regiment, like everyone else in his unit, was worried about the open flank to his right. For about an hour he heard heavy fighting going on to the north and northeast of him. He truly thought that the Russian offensive had passed him by. Little did he know that in front of him was the Russian 184th Rifle Division, bent on taking the town of Berezovka. At about 1500 hours, Russian infantry started coming up over the rise in front of his regiment and he suddenly found himself and his regiment in a desperate struggle. It would be a long late afternoon and evening before the issue would be decided.
