South Korea, June 29th 1985 [D+14]: North Korea's failure to completely destroy ROK forces along the DMZ in the opening stages of the conflict has allowed a large number of ROK forces to escape southwards. This was a major failure in the fulfillment of a critical objective in North Korea's doctrine to ensure a victorious invasion of South Korea. North Korean supply lines are now becoming increasingly strained from the distances the supply units must travel from North Korea as well as bombardment from allied airpower. To make matters worse, Seoul was not captured thus preventing North Korean supplies from flowing freely along the major highways to the south. Now, in the early morning hours of the 29th, the dust settles from a preparatory night allied aerial bombardment of the south east perimeter around Seoul and the orders are given for a major allied offensive. This knock out blow will both relieve the determined defenders of Seoul as well as cut off the bulk of NKPA mechanized forces. North Korea will do everything within its power to parry this coup de grâce. [Size: very large]
