Wonju area, June 29th 1985 [D+14]: The allied counter offensive that was scheduled to begin on the 29th of June required the Wonju sector to accomplish two tasks. First, ROK forces were to hold the line east of the Han River and prevent any penetrations towards the south. The second objective was to utilize the ROK 1st Marine division in a limited counter offensive towards Changju and ultimately lead the assault for the rest of the ROK forces in this area against the city of Wonju.
