If like me you like to practice before embarking on a Campaign this will give you a chance to see what happens when the paras land near the DMZ. NB Scenario VP not fully tested. On the eastern flank of the Korean Peninsula inland from 4th Corps, June 15th 1985: For ten days war had raged in Europe between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, when the North Koreans attacked. The assignment drawn by 2nd Corps in the opening phases of the war was of critical importance. Part of the opening phase of the battle called for Korean People's Army to put Airborne troops deep behind the ROK lines to cause confusion and to capture strategic ground in the high country. This "Bold Move" (subject of Scn 1615_08), was to hold critical crossings on the Han River, Kapyong and Ch'unch'on. And it was 2nd Corps task to breakthrough and link up with these Airborne forces in an operation as ambitious as a broad front Market Garden. [Size: small] Designer's notes: North Korea takes full advantage of its doctrinal shock effect by utilizing tunnels under the Demilitarized Zone and carrying out both airborne and amphibious operations. This confusion cripples the US and ROK chain of command in and around Seoul for much of the first day until the situation can further develop.
