Schwegyin, Burma
To be played as Japanese vs AI or PBEM
As General Slim's Burma Corps continued their retreat towards India, it soon became obvious that the retreat would be a particularly difficult one. The Burma Corps had keep a semblance of cohesion, if they were to avoid the Japanese from completely cutting them off, whilst retreating through a jungle covered terrain, with tracks passing for roads, and the harassment of the Japanese advanced forces.
At one point, the British forces came upon a formidable obstacle, as the road they had been following ended on the banks of the Chindwin River. After assembling an improvised pier and ferry service, the begun the slow process of moving the forces across the wide cliff surrounded basin.
Meanwhile, the Japanese 33rd Division was rushing forward, trying to ensure that the British did not retreat to India. The Division forces had now closed in and the stage was set for a battle between the remains of the Burma Corps and the 33rd Division, as the Burma Corps tried to defend the ferry.
