18 MAY 1945, SUGAR LOAF HILL, OKINAWA:
The battle of Okinawa is on its second month. US troops were pinned down in front of a fortified ridge known as Sugar Loaf. Unable to take the ridge with frontal assaults the US command decided to outflank it for capturing better firing positions. A company from the 6th Marine Division attacks the eastern slopes of the ridge line to open the way for the armor.
