UTAH Beach, the right flank of the Normandy Beachhead: Just after midnight on the 6th of June, the full weight of two American Airborne Divisions, the 101st "Screaming Eagles" and the 82nd "All-Americans", were dropped behind UTAH Beach to help pave the way for the seaborne landing of the 4th US Infantry Division. While the losses on the actual beachhead were light, the airborne troopers were widely scattered and paid dearly in the effort to capture strategic objectives such as the key road hub at St. Mere-Eglise and the causeways through the flooded areas. The capture of the Douve crossings were also critical in preventing the Germans from moving reinforcements from the area of Carentan. This 1 day scenario covers the D-Day action to consolidate the right flank of the invasion beachhead. For a 2 day version covering this same battle area, see #07 "Fallschirmjager vs Paratrooper". [Size: medium; Length: 10 turns]

Played as the Germans. Overall I found it engaging. Was a draw until the very last turn.
The Allied player will do well to play conservative and avoid unnecessary losses, decide on the specific objectives he needs for victory and go for those with laser like focus. You don't need them all.
